A Tribute To Actress Maude Adams

Occasionally I'll run across a personality I have never heard of before.  In this case it is Maud Adams.
Born in 1872 in Salt Lake City she was first on the stage in 1880 and in 1888 had her first lead roll.
She was then constantly in demand on Broadway and around the country until her retirement in 1918.
Best known as the first actor to play Peter Pan, her portrait led Richard Matheson to write "Bid Time Return" which was later turned into the movie "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour.   It was said that Matheson was visiting a hotel and saw a gallery of pictures... Maude's gave him great pause and led to the book.

She taught drama at Stephens College in Columbia for years after her retirement.

I was stunned by her beauty and know exactly why Matheson was so inspired.

I hope you enjoy...
