Bug Life Via Kodachrome
Way back in the 90s I like to hunt insects with my camera. Tripod, Nikon F4, lens 105mm macro, and used Kodachrome slide film. Sometimes I would perch on a flower and just wait to see who/what showed up. Above, I saw a spider on a thistle and just watched.... he/she was waiting for some unsuspecting pollen gatherer and this poor bee happened along. Nature is sometimes brutal. Below, this guy landed/crash landed vertically .
Above and below; Common Sulfur getting a drink - above from a thistle, below from clover. Much more gentle than above.

Brief Garden Visit
Really quick. I haven't been to Kauffman Gardens, 4801 Rockhill Road, this year... but was nearby and popped in. Lovely as usual with a full complement of flowers and insects. Very warm.

William Rockhill Nelson Chapel
William Rockhill Nelson , 1841 - 1915, founded the Kansas City Star in 1880. Nelson is buried in Mount Washington Cemetery in a grand mausoleum. Once a year, on Memorial Day, the doors are opened for visitors. Nelson, his wife, daughter, and son-in-law are buried here.
Nelson is buried in this vault which is below floor level.
Above, Nelson's daughter's resting place. Below, the four people buried in the mausoleum.
