one of the luckiest things to happen to me was when KC riots made us move from Hyde Park to Northeast. I started Thatcher in 3rd, then to NE Jr&Sr. Northeast was a pretty good place in KC for a kid to grow up, maybe the best except far SW KCMO. this was interesting video because people learned about Oakley which is big chunk of what Northeast is, old Oakley (N+S Indian Mound) + Pendleton Hts + Lykins + Independence Plz. NEHS would not be built for another 14 yrs, wonder where these kids went to HS? too bad someone stole the cornerstone box w/photos 8-(
