Urban Renewal
Wandered around the backyard today viewing all the new life that's arrived for Spring. Also, trespassed using a long lens into my neighbors' yard. Grant and Jessica are understanding. A 400mm lens gives each photo an impressionistic touch.

Insect-Aside, Volume 1
To help forget about the COLD and be reminded of warmer times, I present the following closeup images of insects. All taken in the 1990s using Kodachrome 64 or 25, Nikon F4, and 105mm micro lens. Their world is very interesting. More tomorrow.
Posing, Emine Moth
Cuckoo Wasp
Small fly on thistle.
Red-banded leafhopper
Dragon fly
Very tiny leafhopper...about 1/2 the size of your pinky nail.

Flocks of Flocks
There is so much shade in my backyard that no flowers will grow except right by the patio where the sun still reaches most of the day. Tall-stalk flocks love it, are pretty much indestructible and bloom for almost a month. All kinds of flying critters visit.... I'll have some photos of them later. These were taken with the Nikon 105mm macro and 70-200mm zoom with Cannon macro filter.

More From Kauffman
Had an engagement session in Kauffman Gardens last night. Although it was a tad cool, the lighting was wonderful... cloudy is sometimes good. Great couple, getting married in August in Ransom, Kansas... I will enjoy the trip. Before they arrived I grabbed some snaps. The roses are peaking now.
This is Princess... in house security for all things Kauffman. Very friendly, staff adopted.
