New View

Newly installed at Lookout Point along Cliff Drive, this fenced, stone lookout provides a stunning view of the East Bottoms at night.   Prospect Point is in Historic Northeast at the intersection of East Lookout Point Drive and East Reservoir Drive.  Below is the view at night.

Looking Forward To Spring

One of the first flowers to be seen along Cliff Drive this year will be Spring Beauty.  About the size of a grown man's thumbnail..  they bravely pop out even in light snow.

Twenty-eighth Annual Cliffhanger

The 2013 Cliffhanger was held Sunday along Cliff Drive in Historic Northeast.  Above and below the start of the 8K race.  This year the Campus of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, the major sponsor,  played host to the race with the course beginning at the Paseo Gate of Cliff Drive.

You can see and download all the pictures here:

Above and below, the start of the 5K race.  Approximately 900 runners and walkers took part this year.  The race is presented by the Kansas City Track Club and is a benefit for Northeast Neighbor to Neighbor  (  ) a Northeast organization for healthcare outreach.

Participants were treated to pancakes and eggs after the race in the Education Pavilion of KCUMB.

Leslie Collins, President of the Board of Northeast Neighbor to Neighbor presented a gift tray to Nancy English the Race Director and below Nancy presented Leslie with a check for over $9,000... the funds raised from the race.   Come to think of it, I haven't seen Leslie since.
