West Bottoms After Dark

Still my favorite place to shoot. Whether on my own or doing portraits. There's just something unspoiled about a place that's just beginning to be discovered.

  1. Nah... it's safe. No ones down there after dark... and not too many during the day.

  2. There's a difference between undiscovered and "we know it's here, but we still find it one of the least valued places in the area, fit for sewage treatment plants, an outdated arena, animal shows, UPS processing, and a prison release center." But, wait — there's also a winery! And the memories I have with mi esposo who lived there while we were not married … and the memories of galleries gone with the winds of change.

  3. Keep it under your hat about the West Bottoms! The last thing we need down here is a bunch of Beemer-driving squishy suburbanites wandering around. Stay in the Crossroads! The West Bottoms is a DANGEROUS place!

  4. What beautiful photos!
I remember when Catherine Opie was wandering around Chicago 2 years ago, taking some great night time shots for an exhibit.

    Very nice.

  6. I don't think I'd be walking around there by myself at night...
