Goose, Climbers And A Back-packing Dog

Took a bike ride along Cliff Drive today.... perfect weather and the Drive is closed to traffic on weekends so you don't have to worry about the teen speeding around corners in his new Corvair. Lone goose at North Terrace Lake probably on lay-over. Below climbers were out in force on the bluffs.... great weather.
Above and below ... practicing tethered free climbing.... one has to be in shape to do this stuff...

Suddenly there was a back-packed dog....

Climbers belayed each other .... remember it's not the fall that gets you it's the abrupt stop.

Looks like fun.... but I have an aversion to heights......

  1. Hello! I also live in the KC area.....my friend, who doesn't have a blog...found yours and passed the link on to me! Love the photos of Cliff Dr. I haven't been there in years. I also enjoyed the Royals wedding!! Awesome. My son and DIL had their reception at the Stadium Club 6 years ago....that photo of the bride and groom kissing with the Royals scoreboard in the background looks very similar to one my son and his wife took!! They got lots of photos on the field, but were not married there! Hope you had a great Labor Day....dana

  2. Thanks for stopping by Dana.... I did have a great Labor Day and it ended with a neighborhood picnic up by the Museum. My blog is mostly about Northeast but oftentimes I venture into other parts of the metro... I like your blog too!

  3. From one of the climbers on Sunday -- thanks! Always nice to see someone else's perspective. And cool framing with the vegetation in a circle like that.

  4. Thanks.... it was fun watching folks who are braver than I. Even tethered I won't use a step ladder :)
