Cliffhanger Run 5K And 10K

The Cliffhanger 5k and 10k for 2019 races start and finish line in front of The Colonnade in Historic Northeast KC.  The route went along Cliff Drive and up Gladstone Boulevard.  The race is put on by the Kansas City Running Club and is a benefit for Northeast Neighbor to Neighbor  ( nnncares.org ). All the photos can be viewed here:   dl=0https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vgwgeocejdgwed8/AADGXj9LKh9aRKv1oI_6gEvua?dl=0

 Warming up.

First warm and leafy day of the new Spring.  North Terrace Lake on Cliff Drive,  Indian Mound, and Kessler Park with it's great view of the skyline.

A Walk In The Woods

Began the trek on the Indian Mound Trail... runs below Gladstone Boulevard from Cliff Drive to one block short of Indian Mound.

Above, Picnic Rock shows the tenacity of nature...paper, scissors, tree, rock.  I named it Picnic Rock because that's where Kelly and I would stop for lunch on our hikes.  It was flatter then.  Below, the Four Sisters.

Finished up the walk by the Kansas City Museum.  The sun was setting.  Makes for long shadows and dramatic pix.

The Colors Of Reservoir Hill

The Kansas City Museum from Reservoir Hill.

Nature is slowly reclaiming the interior and has a wonderful palette  to show for it.  Above, the northern half of the Reservoir. Below, the southern half of the Reservoir.

The cottonwoods are at their peak, including the Missouri State Champion, below.
