A Very Humid Sunset

Wednesday, July 2nd, the humidity reached 94% here in Kansas City.  That made for a very soft, diffused sunset.  This photo taken from Kessler Park next to the Kansas City Museum.

Forest Hill

Forest Hill Cemetery is located at 71st and Troost.  Established in 1888, the land is notable for the location of another Civil War Battle Field as the Confederate troops fled south from Westport.

Hyperblogal has family here in several locations.

Many famous Kansas City residents  are buried here including Satchel Paige, below.

Mighty Mo In Black And White

Above, the City from Kaw Point.  Below, from River Front Park .
The river is higher this year than it has been the past two years in February. Usually you can walk almost to the middle of the channel on sand/rock bars. Not this year.

A Byway in Autumn

Finally got out of the house on a sunny day to record some fall colors. The trees, I don't have to tell you, are spectacular this year. Little stress and lots of water makes for a happy leaf.
These are shots along Cliff Drive in Indian Mound, Scarritt Renaissance and Pendleton Heights.

Below, the Colonnade.

Above and below along Lexington Avenue adjacent to Reservoir Hill.

Cliff Drive the western end by Paseo.
Around North Terrace Lake.
