The Colonnade at Sunset

Constructed in 1908 the Colonnade in the Northeast part of Kansas City completed the grand design of George Kessler for North Terrace Park and the Concourse. One can enjoy a lovely view of Cliff Drive below and the east bottoms off in the distance. There is most always a breeze/wind there which makes it comfortable in summer and heck on hair in portraits.

  1. Working just a few minutes away for the past 10 year I've never made it to this area, which is a shame.

  2. I'm so homesick for the Northeast! I lived REALLY close to the Melrose Methodist Church. I need to get up to the KC Museum soon. Gorgeous pictures of the Colonade!

  3. Hold off on the Museum visit for a while Moxie... only the Visitor Center is open. The old house itself is closed during its extensive remodel... although the "Friends" are occasionally given hard-hat tours.. thanks for the compliment!

  4. Beautiful pictures. I've lived in KC for 10 years and have yet to visit most of the lovely places you photograph! I'm going to have to work on that!
