It tears down its history. City Market... probably 1800s.... congratulations to whomever is responsible for this. Destruction of heritage is a noble pursuit.
hbl... google "Market Station Apartments" that's what went in across from this venerable old building.... it's hard to find anything but an architectural rendering online though because they are so hideous in person. I think I'll feature them in an upcoming post... they make 50s ticky=tack seem exciting.

Chicago does the same. Either it burns down or it's torn down. And, to think, the coliseum has stood more or less intact for centuries.

ReplyDeleteAgree with you completely. Or the buildings are allowed to fall apart. Of course, that makes for beautiful decay and great photos. But still . . .
ReplyDeleteBuilding was neglected by owner and was about to fall down; north and south facades had detached from wooden frame. No choice but to demo.
