North of St Louis near Alton, Illinois the Mighty Mo flows into the Might Mississippi. The Confluence is observable from the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower on the Illinois side of the rivers. There is the Jones Confluence Park on the Missouri side, but it is frequently closed due to flooding... as it was last weekend. Costs $6 for adults, $5 if you're ancient. There is a tour guide. It was a lousy time of day for photos as the sun was directly overhead... also there was a lot of haze/smoke over by the city. Black and white made it palatable .
There are three levels of the Tower each with a protective cage all around the deck.
