Brushless Fall Images -Around North Terrace Lake

I think most photographers are frustrated artists... i e.  the folks who can paint and draw and capture feelings in multiple media.  The frustration is eased somewhat with the use of Photoshop.. and multiple steps to create something close to what we wish we could do with a brush.  :)  All Northeast around the lake.

Fall, Cliff Drive

Cliff Drive is unusually colorful this year.  Due to the drought most all the trees are changing at the same time.  Above is a 7-minute video of the Drive moving from West to East, from the Paseo Gateway to the Elmwood entrance.  Above and  below are shots of North Terrace Lake.

Gosling 2011 Crop-Five

The North Terrace Lake goose population increased by five a couple of weeks ago. Mother Goose and Father Goose are now parading them around the lake to there accustomed eating places.

All shots take with the Nikon D3 and 200-400mm zoom... at 400. F11 at 1/500th.. ASA 500.
While I was watching the geese two deer came out of the woods to watch me. The circle of life.

Goose, Climbers And A Back-packing Dog

Took a bike ride along Cliff Drive today.... perfect weather and the Drive is closed to traffic on weekends so you don't have to worry about the teen speeding around corners in his new Corvair. Lone goose at North Terrace Lake probably on lay-over. Below climbers were out in force on the bluffs.... great weather.
Above and below ... practicing tethered free climbing.... one has to be in shape to do this stuff...

Suddenly there was a back-packed dog....

Climbers belayed each other .... remember it's not the fall that gets you it's the abrupt stop.

Looks like fun.... but I have an aversion to heights......
