See You Again Soon To A Northeast Warrior

Today, June 28, 2024, is Michael Bushnell's last day at the Northeast News.  For the last 26 years he and wife Chris Adams have been the voice of Northeast.  1,352 issues of the News have had his touch and input.  More than 100 awards from his peer group adorn the walls and halls of the current News building.  Stories, podcasts, photos, editorials ... all have born the mark of his passion for journalism.  To say his advocacy for Northeast will be missed is an understatement.  There will no doubt be joy in the halls of opaque government as a journalist who just wants the truth is someone to be feared by those who sing Kumbaya while the roads rot and only want happy news.  This is not retirement and it was not voluntary.

As a small business owner you have to know how to do everything from distribution to podcasts to trying to get comment from obfuscating public officials.

To those who cheer a silenced voice... that cannot be done with truth seekers who have a passionate love for the truth and common sense. This ending was not voluntary.

A farewell party was held in the Northeast News offices on June 27th for staff and close friends of the paper -  friends who have been along for the whole 26 year ride.  Two hours wasn't long enough to reminisce about all the wonderful and not-so-wonderful times...but it was a joy none-the-less.

    1. His contract for running the paper was terminated by someone who has been in charge too long... it wasn't his idea.
