Today, June 28, 2024, is Michael Bushnell's last day at the Northeast News. For the last 26 years he and wife Chris Adams have been the voice of Northeast. 1,352 issues of the News have had his touch and input. More than 100 awards from his peer group adorn the walls and halls of the current News building. Stories, podcasts, photos, editorials ... all have born the mark of his passion for journalism. To say his advocacy for Northeast will be missed is an understatement. There will no doubt be joy in the halls of opaque government as a journalist who just wants the truth is someone to be feared by those who sing Kumbaya while the roads rot and only want happy news. This is not retirement and it was not voluntary.
As a small business owner you have to know how to do everything from distribution to podcasts to trying to get comment from obfuscating public officials.

Thank you for your hard work. Enjoy retirement!

DeleteHis contract for running the paper was terminated by someone who has been in charge too long... it wasn't his idea.
Deletecan you just name the person or is that considered dangerous now?
